Profile photo for attorney, Brian A. Hinton

Brian Hinton grew up in Columbus, Mississippi, and began practicing law in 1998 after completing his education at the University of Mississippi School of Law. He represents businesses, insurance carriers, and individuals in construction and commercial litigation matters. With nearly three decades of experience, he brings seasoned judgment, strategic insight, and practical advocacy to every case.

Brian’s decision to pursue law began in high school when a local attorney invited him to observe a jury trial. Sitting through the proceedings, engaging with the courtroom staff, and even participating in jury selection conversations all sparked his appreciation for the ways an attorney works to blend strategy, storytelling, and human impact.

Brian’s main goal as an attorney is straightforward: to get the best possible results for his clients while keeping their specific situations in mind. He approaches each matter with clear, consistent, and practical strategies grounded in real-world application rather than abstract legal theory. With that in mind, Brian is a firm believer in early communication and accurate documentation. Preparation, he says, is everything. It’s a lesson learned over years of litigation and reinforced through experience: while not every variable can be controlled, being thoroughly prepared puts clients in the strongest possible position for success.

In construction-related litigation, Brian finds the greatest challenge in managing the moving parts: technical building issues, coverage disputes, regulatory questions, and the competing interests of multiple stakeholders. However, he also finds the greatest reward comes when all those elements align and produce a strong defense or well-reasoned resolution that protects his client’s position.

Outside the office, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and following Ole Miss sports. Once upon a time, he played collegiate baseball, and he now claims to be a “fairly above-average cook.” If he weren’t practicing law, Brian imagines himself coaching high school baseball and teaching history—careers that reflect his love of strategy, teamwork, and understanding the big picture.
