Timothy D. Crawley

Partner

Tim Crawley is a partner at Anderson Crawley & Burke. His practice focuses on insurance defense, with an emphasis on high-exposure transportation and commercial liability claims.

Tim has litigated and tried cases in state and federal courts across Mississippi and Tennessee and has been involved in numerous reported appellate decisions. He is frequently engaged in cases presenting novel legal issues and significant financial or regulatory exposure for insurers and self-insured entities.


A regular speaker at national and international industry conferences, Tim presents on emerging trends affecting insurers and claims professionals, including technology, regulatory developments, and evolving liability theories. He has also authored published commentary on workers’ compensation reform and insurance-related topics.


Tim remains actively involved in national and regional defense organizations and industry groups, reflecting a practice that is both technically sophisticated and industry-focused.

Representative Matters
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of employer in connection with plaintiff’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) claim - Heitman v. Planet Fit Indy 10, LLC, 2023 WL 12204542 (S.D.Miss. 2023);

  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of pharmacy and successfully defended trial court’s ruling on appeal - Pointer v. Rite Aid Hdqtrs. Corp., 327 So.3d 159 (Miss. Ct. App. 2021);

  • Successfully appealed denial of a motion to dismiss on the basis that the plaintiff’s claims for intentional torts were filed outside of the one-year statute of limitations - Howard v. Wilson, 62 So.3d 955 (Miss. 2011);

  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of contractor in connection with plaintiffs’ products liability claim, and successfully defended trial court’s ruling in plaintiffs’ appeal to the Mississippi Supreme Court - McKee v. Bowers Window & Door (Weather Shield Mfg. Co., Inc.), 64 So.3d 926 (Miss. 2011);

  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of workers’ compensation insurer in health care provider’s lawsuit to recover payments for services in excess of those required under workers’ compensation law - Joseph M. Still Burn Centers, Inc. v. AmFed National Insurance Company, 702 F.Supp.2d 1371 (S.D. Ga. 2010);

  • Obtained unanimous jury verdict in favor of defendant in trucking accident lawsuit, and defended jury's verdict in plaintiff's subsequent appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit - Cranford v. Morgan Southern, Inc., 421 Fed. App'x 354 (5th Cir. 2011);
